The bench has finally arrived!! For probably almost 2 years now I have been anticipating the memorial bench that will sit on the campus of the hospital in Reno where Ricky and I spent so much of our time. I received these photos today of what the finished product looks like and had to post them. They are going to pour a concrete slab that it will rest on... and hopefully sometime in October we'll be out there to see it in person.
I can't really express how much it means to finally have some sort of memorial for Ricky! Thank you SO much to any of you who had a part in financially making this possible.

The words "I'm Alive, I'm Alive" come from a lullaby song that I played daily as I prayed over Ricky to be healed... Ironically, it was playing in the room during the moment that I am very sure Ricky finally lost consciousness.

It is beautiful, isn't it. Carol showed some of us the pictures at work the other day...brought back memories and tears. I'm sure you must be feeling a bit overwhelmed.

This turned out so beautiful! Even though it took a lot longer then you wanted, now it's here and it's amazing! I can't wait to see it in person and have you out to honor your son this fall!

Meg, This is so great! I am so happy Ricky's memorial bench is finally done and soon you will be able to sit there...and to think of all the others; parents, grandparents, friends, siblings, of patients in Reno that will get a glimpse of sweet Ricky's cheeks, read God's powerful, life-giving words, and be comforted as they go through their journey, finding refuge on Ricky's bench.
