This is a Great Man.

His statement on returning for another season in 2008: (Yay!)

"I wouldn't come back if I didn't think we had a chance to win and that I was the very best person for the job," he said. "I wouldn't shortchange my family and I wouldn't come back if my wife and children were not for it."

But there is something else that must be emphasized, and it has little to do with football. The fame of winning a Super Bowl has given him a platform for faith. Not many coaches use it as he did. That, too, would be hard to let go.

"I look at this as a job," he said, "but I also look at it as a ministry ... I might not have as effective a ministry as I have right now."

I think he is a remarkable example of faithful living - and seeing every opportunity as platform for representing Christ and ministry. That is the main reason I can forgive him for beating my Bears last year.

I agree with you. He is one of few, sports figures we can look up to. A true Christian and gentleman. Payton and he are the reason I started to enjoy football.

Hey! You don't know me, I'm just visiting, I found you through Nitty Gritty - or maybe it was Noah Steven's page..I can't remember now....

but ANYWAY - I just wanted to say I agree! I admire Tony Dungee a lot! My husband and I read his book - have you read it? :)

Have an awesome day! :)
